Hi fellow smarties, yes all you smartcash hodl'rs, if you are like me and want to mine on a pool for more frequent payouts or just like seeing the balance grow steadily, then today's guide is for you. First things first, get your self over to the official smartcash mining pool by going here then choose a miner that best suits your choice of mining, e.g GPU or CPU, though at the time of writing GPU is really the best option.
For the purpose of this article i will be using sgminer SGMiner 5.3.4 (tpruvot): mainly because i feel it works best for my gpu which is an AMD RX480, though Nvidia cards do just as well if not better. So you have downloaded the miner software, go ahead and extract it to a directory of your choosing. We will come back to the config of the miner once we have setup our account on the mining pool. Any suggestions? I am running this on a Lenovo laptop so not sure if it can run a miner. Edit: OK I think I see where the problem lies.
The sgminer-x64 file is not in the directory I unzipped to. Why would it be missing from my download?
Edit2: I figured it out. My Adaware Antivirus was deleting the file. I restored the file and added the path to the exclusions list and hey presto my miner is now running!
We use Ethereum smart contracts to build a decentralized pooled mining protocol called SmartPool. Our solution implicitly replaces the centralized pool operator by network participants who run the Ethereum network. SmartPool includes several novel data structures and design choices which make its protocol secure and efficient. Specifically, we devise a new mechanism to verify and record miners' contributions to the pool without centralized operators. SmartPool's efficient probabilistic verification drastically reduces both the number of messages and the costs to run the pool for miners. Previous decentralized Bitcoin pools (e.g. P2Pool) used a separate side-chain which doesn't have as strong a backing infrastructure as Ethereum today. • SmartPool's design scales ad-infinitum. • SmartPool is a versatile concept. It can support mining for more than one cryptocurrency. Depending on how much we get, our promised deliverables vary as follows.
• Less than 5,000 ETH: Implement SmartPool for Ethereum and release all software as open source (i.e. Under MIT license). • 5,000 to 10,000 ETH: In addition to what we have promised, we will launch a decentralized pool for Ethereum and maintain it until Ethereum moves to proof of stake. • More than 10,000 ETH: In addition to what we have promised, we implement SmartPool protocol for other cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, ZCash and/or Monero) and possibly launch and maintain real pools for these cryptocurrencies.
