I just installed the one-click-miner on another PC, and realized many of the guides referred to by the Vertcoin website are outdated, so I decided to add my own, more recent guide. Dated October 26, 2017. I hope this will prove useful to some.

So you’ve decided you’d like to mine some Vertcoin (VTC). Vertcoin is mined using your GPU, so if you have a PC sitting around with an unused NVIDIA or AMD graphics card, why not give it a go? Please note that at this point I assume you have a VTC wallet address.

Should you not have an address yet, go download a VTC wallet from the downloads section on and generate one. Alright here we go: start by downloading the from this github page. It should be the file called “VertcoinOneClickMiner.msi”. You can save it or not, just make sure you run it. When you run it, it will open an installation wizard. Go through the wizard and select the folder where you’d like your miner to be located. When the installation is complete, go to the folder you selected during installation and there you will find a file called “Vertcoin One-Click Miner.exe”.

DO NOT OPEN THIS FILE YET. Turns out, anti-virus scanners do not like.exe miners.

So what you need to do next is go to your antivirus program settings (usually these can be found by right-clicking your antivirus program icon in your taskbar tray) and try to find where you can add exclusions, trusted programs, anything like that. Use Google if necessary. Once you find this, you will need to add this “Vertcoin One-Click Miner.exe” file to it.

It will likely ask you to select the file you wish to exclude, at which point you just go to the folder where you installed it and click it. Now you may open Vertcoin One-Click Miner.exe.

And voila, before you should be a screen like this: You’re almost there, hang on. At this point you can select your type of GPU from the dropdown menu in the top left. Then, we'll need to add a mining pool. Nexus NXS Mining Difficulty Chart there. If you have a powerful setup, and believe you will have over 100 MH/s hashrate, you are eligible to mine on network 1. Make sure you choose a node near you, because the closer the node, the less latency, and the less latency, the bigger the chance your rig will deliver the answer to a calculation first, which means more VTC!

Some address lists for network 1: above 100MH/s • • • If you have just one or two GPUs, you will likely not go above 100 MH/s, in which case it is best to use Network 2. Again, choose a pool near you for optimal mining. Some address lists for network 2: below 100MH/s • • • Once you’ve found a pool you’d like to mine on, in the One-Click Miner click ‘add pool’.

This window will pop up: To add an address simply copy the IP address of the pool you want to mine into the pool address field. Add your wallet address to the wallet address field (take care you enter this correctly, otherwise – no VTC for you!), and if you have a password add it to the password field. If you do not have a password just put ‘x’.

It will look something like this: Click ‘add pool’ and make sure the checkmark on checked on the pool you just added. Time to start mining! What Are Zcash ZEC Miners.

Click ‘Start’, and one of the following should happen: • Suddenly a notification appears! An update was found for NVIDIA/AMD. Click ok and allow the update.

Once this is done, click start again. • After a few moments a hashrate appears. You’re now mining Vertcoin. • Your virus scanner sounds the alarm and instantly closes the program. It will notify you it just detected a most serious threat but to rest assured, threat eliminated.

It should give you a file location as to which file was deleted/blocked. In this case, just run the install file again, and add the file that was deleted to your virus scanner’s exclusions/trusted programs. Did you follow this guide but the miner is not working for you? Having firewall issues, hashrate issues, or something else?

Do not despair, and instead join us on the #support channel, where we will do our best to help you get started. Pool fees mean you pay x% to the host node. So if the fee was 0.5-1% (standard) you would be paying me that much of your estimated payout. It's up to you if you want to mine on a pool with fees. If your expected payout per share is 0.25 VTC, you'd be donating 0.0025 VTC each time. You can view it as a minuscule contribution for someone having their node running 24/7 ie electricity, wear/tear on components, etc.

You should choose a node with higher uptime since you can assume it is reliable and will not go down overnight requiring minimal intervention on your part, and a node that has low latency (ping) relative to your location. • • • • • • •.
